Soundscapes & Sound Identities is the seventh international symposium on soundscape organized by the FKL (Forum Klanglandschaft) The symposium is hosted by‪ festival Portobeseno 2015 from 22 – 24 May 2015‬.‬

David was invited to present his paper Ringing The Changes: An Investigation into Sounds and Power and to screen Of This Parish. The film follows St. Anthony on a journey from a church tower to the threshold at which its bells can be heard. The film is both a sonic portrait of the Parish of Sul and a meditation on the changing role of bells in a rural community.

While David was in Italy, he was taken to see Maria Dolens; the peace bell, up in the mountains near Rovereto. The bell was conceived by the priest of Rovereto, Antonio Rossaro in the strongly Nationalist climate of post-war Italy. It is cast from cannons and other weapons from WW1 and tolls 100 times at nightfall in remembrance of those who have died in all wars.
